Stories from the Komodo Waters

Travel diaries, site-by-site dive logs, packing guides, and hard-won insider tips — written by the captains, dive masters and recent guests who actually sail these waters, not a marketing desk recycling press releases.

Field Notes from People Who Sail Komodo
Why We Write This

Field Notes from People Who Sail Komodo

Most Komodo travel content online is written by people who have never set foot on a phinisi. This journal is the opposite. Every entry comes from someone on the water — a captain logging the swell on the southern crossing, a dive master noting how the current ran at Manta Point that morning, a guest writing down the small things they wish they had known before they boarded. We publish the practical detail other sites leave out because it does not photograph well.

That means you will find honest seasonality breakdowns, real packing lists tested over hundreds of trips, and frank takes on which itineraries are worth the extra night and which are not. We would rather you arrive properly prepared and have the trip of your life than book on a glossy half-truth. Read a few entries before you plan — then talk to our concierge and we will tailor the rest around you.
