The four things a liveaboard comparison must get right
Cabin count, itinerary, safety equipment and what happens when weather closes a site. Most listings cover the first two and go quiet on the last two, which is backwards — the itinerary is the part most likely to change. Our boat pages therefore state the published route and the operator’s stated alternative when the northern sites are unworkable, alongside the actual berth configuration rather than a marketing “up to” figure. Where an operator will not state a weather policy in writing, we record that refusal on the page.
Where our park and sea-condition information comes from
Park entry fees, permitted sites and ranger rules come from the Komodo National Park authority. Sea-state expectations by month are written from the operators’ own sailing records and the Indonesian meteorological agency’s seasonal guidance, not from a general tourism calendar. Both are dated on the page.
What we do not claim
We do not own or operate the vessels we list, we are not a marine surveyor, and we publish no individual crew credentials. Safety equipment counts on this site are what we observed or what the operator documented; they are not a certification, and we say so on every boat page rather than implying an inspection we did not perform.
