Komodo Liveaboard

Sail & Dive Komodo National Park

Wake at anchor in front of Padar, dive untouched reefs before the day boats arrive, and trek dragon country with expert rangers — a Komodo liveaboard is the only way to live inside the national park from dawn to starlit night.

What Is a Komodo Liveaboard

Live Aboard, Deep Inside Komodo National Park

A Komodo liveaboard is a multi-day voyage on a traditional phinisi or motor yacht where the boat is both your transport and your hotel. Instead of returning to Labuan Bajo each evening, you sleep at anchor between the islands — which means you reach the legendary dive sites and sunrise viewpoints hours before the day-trip crowds, and you stay long after they have gone. It is the difference between visiting Komodo and actually living in it.

Trips run from short 2-day / 1-night escapes up to immersive 6-night expeditions, with shared open-trip cabins, private full-vessel charters, and everything between. Every route is built around the icons — Padar Island’s three-bay ridge, the pink coral sand of Pink Beach, manta cleaning stations, world-class dive walls, and the Komodo dragons themselves on Komodo and Rinca. Packages are genuinely all-inclusive: cabin, full-board meals, dive and snorkel equipment, certified guides, national park and ranger fees, and airport pickup.

From a small crew of four on an open-trip boat to a team of fifteen on a luxury phinisi, the people aboard handle every logistic so your only job is to be present — on the dive deck at first light, on the bow at sunset, on the ridge of Padar before anyone else has woken.

A Day on a Komodo Liveaboard
Life Aboard

A Day on a Komodo Liveaboard

The day begins before sunrise. Coffee is poured on deck while the crew lifts anchor and the boat slips toward Padar in soft grey light. You climb the ridge as the three bays turn gold, then you are back aboard for a hot breakfast before the first dive — the reef entirely yours, the day boats still an hour from leaving harbour.

Between dives the boat repositions while you read on the sun-deck, nap in a hammock, or watch dolphins ride the bow wave. Afternoons bring a ranger trek through dragon country or a snorkel over Pink Beach’s coral. As the light fades the chef plates grilled reef fish under a sky thick with stars, the bar pours sundowners, and Kalong’s flying foxes pour across the horizon. Your cabin waits cool and turned-down below — and tomorrow the park is still all yours.
